St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Officer – Skilled Trades Person (Carpenter) to join our Facilities & Services team at our beautiful and expansive Indooroopilly campus.
This is a full time permanent appointment and an opportunity to see your work directly contribute to the positive experiences of students, staff, families, and visitors.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing the College's buildings, facilities, and assets. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will deliver high-quality carpentry and maintenance services while ensuring minimal disruption to College operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of planned and reactive carpentry and maintenance works across the College
- Carry out installations, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance of buildings and facilities
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise work effectively to meet operational needs
- Deliver a consistently high standard of workmanship with strong attention to detail
- Work closely with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
- Assist with maintenance projects, operational activities, and College events as required
- Maintain accurate records of completed works through the College's service request system
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute practical solutions to enhance facilities and services
- Respond to urgent or emergency maintenance requirements, including occasional after-hours work
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience as a Carpenter, preferably with a trade qualification and relevant school facilities experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to produce high-quality work and take pride in your craft
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable working autonomously when required, and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one
